When you recommend an investment strategy, particularly one involving derivatives in a SIF structure where minimum ticket sizes are ₹10 lakh, you are obligated to ensure the client understands the volatility inherent in their hedge. Providing a clear explanation of how Delta and Gamma behave helps the investor appreciate why their hedging strategy might require active monitoring rather than a ‘set and forget’ approach.
This transparency is your primary defense against future grievances, ensuring the client views your recommendation as a calculated risk-management solution rather than a gamble on interest rate directions.
